Energy Saving Trust PartnershipThe Energy Saving Trust Partnership site is designed to communicate current Partnership news, events and issues to partners and deliver information within the wider energy efficiency field. The intention is to inform those with an interest in domestic energy efficiency, or in eliminating fuel poverty, about the role of the Partnership and benefits to partners.

Mighty Media were asked to develop a user friendly web application and site that not only worked to communicate with the Partners but was also a working tool (extranet) that would support all Partnership activity. News, event information, documents, videos, sector working group plans, the Partnership directory and many more elements needed adding to a fully searchable database that the Partnership team would manage on a daily basis through a content management system.

An extension to the site is the Fuel Poverty Scheme design database which allows users to query a complex database and retrieve information about Fuel Poverty Schemes based on a combination of 15 different criteria. Once relevant schemes have been sourced the reports are presented in a summary list. These summaries can then be printed or the reports can be explored in detail and the details printed for reference.

In addition we were asked to think of ways in which to ease the burden on the Trust’s IT personnel for the database construction. We developed a toolset that allowed us to remotely construct all database tables and fields. Using XML we transposed all data from the Oracle 8i development database to the EST’s Oracle 8i database.

The site is live and used by partners and the EST on a daily basis.
